WISI Introduced to Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia – In conjunction with the annual JKR Roadshow, A.F.S. Engineering Sdn Bhd has organized a seminar on High Definition Television (HDTV) System at JKR Kuala Lumpur’s headquarter on 16th January 2015. Over 20 representatives from the engineering division of JKR attended the seminar. Mr. Tai Quek Kee, Executive Director of A.F.S., kick started the seminar with a welcoming message, followed by a presentation on the HDTV system application by Mr. Vijay, our Application Engineer in Radio Frequency and Optical.
High Definition Television (HDTV) refers to a digital TV broadcasting format where it transmits high-resolution picture quality that is higher than conventional television system. The seminar was geared as a training session to equipped our participants with knowledge, considering HDTV System is particularly relevant as Free-to-Air broadcasters in Malaysia are progressively moving to a fully digital platform as imposed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
A powerful, efficient and flexible headend system is key in implementing a HDTV System. The WISI Compact Headend system hits the spot right as it operates on a high efficiency power supply with low power consumption modules, which ensure minimum ecological impact and low operational costs. It accommodates up to 14 different modules, which offers optimum channel processing for up to 14 analogue and 28 digital channels.
Apart from being introduced to a range of WISI products, the audiences were also exposed to 3 different HDTV designs with some ground understanding on the required equipment list. The audiences were encouraged to raise questions throughout and were also given the opportunity to be in contact with products. According to Mr. Vijay, the main presenter of the seminar, “They were very responsive with many questions being thrown at us, which made the entire seminar very interactive. I’m glad they did as they could now walk out being more equipped in knowledge, which allows them to be more prepared for the migration to digital.”
